The mission of "Coach Cabin" is pretty simple really. To assist athletes of all ages and abilities in pushing their personal limits. Achieving their goals, and exceeding them. By providing specific, individualised training that is both varied, and fun.
Because after all... training and racing is just the grown up form of play.

Your Coach is Mark "Cabin" Leishman. Originally a Secondary School Phys Ed teacher; now an experienced Elite Athlete, Coach, Manager, and Youth development officer.

From a very average level of talent, I have gone on to represent NZ at World Championship in XC MTB, Off-Road Triathlon (XTERRA), MTB Marathon, and Triathlon (age-group).

It is through my experiences as an Elite athlete, the lessons learned, assistance recieved, and knowledge I've gained that I can help you fulfill your potential.

Sponsorship Coaching

Personalised programes: are offered at a cost of $25 per week, with a one-off set-up fee of $70. Training is provided in 4 week blocks, with regular contact between Coach and athlete to monitor progress.

Skills coaching, camps, and sponsorship coaching are available on request for individuals or groups. Contact Cabin if interested to discuss the options.

Successful 2009 NZ Summer


While I've had a pretty successful summer myself, what has been really cool is to watch the achievements of those I coach. Thanks to them for all their hard work, determination, and dedication as after all it is the athletes that do all the work! And congratulations to them all on some great achievements.

Dave Sharpe - Open Mens Champion Highlander 80km MTB
Winner Nth Island Cup's 1 & 2 (Expert Men), and a Karapoti PB

Manawatu MTB Junior Squad - Some great results from Aidan, Matt, Campbell, Dom, Josh, Nathan, Kerryn all summer long. Incl 3 of the top 5 U16 at NZ Secondary Schools. Nice
